FAQ

1. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GRASS-FED AND CONVENTIONAL BEEF?

There is actually a huge difference between grass-fed and grain-fed beef, (also known as conventional beef).

One difference being that what a cow eats during its life has a drastic impact on its nutritional value as a meat source. Grass-fed beef contains less fat and less calories than grain-fed beef. It's also significantly higher in CLAs (conjugated linoleic acid) which has numerous health benefits (one being associated with weight loss).

Grass-fed beef is significantly lower in monounsaturated fat than grain-fed cows but has almost 5x more omega 3's (brain health!)

Simply put, grass-finished beef comes from cattle that eat nothing but grass and forage for their entire lives.  Our cattle are free to roam the pastures, breathing fresh air, and we believe this environment creates happier, healthy cows.  And this in turn, produces better tasting and more nutritious meat.

2. HOW DO I ORDER?

At the moment, I am not shipping directly to consumers.  I will be traveling to Farmer's Markets across Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota.  Watch my Facebook and Instagram page for updates on when and where I will be selling this summer.  I am also selling locally with free delivery within 30 miles.

3. CAN I PREORDER IF YOU ARE COMING TO MY AREA THIS SUMMER?

The answer is yes!  Ground beef is the best seller, but I also have limited quantities of steaks and roasts, so preorder to guarantee that you reserve the products you would like. Sign up for my newsletter, so you will be the first to know when and how to order.  There will be a google form available as the time gets closer, and people that live locally will be able to order that way as well.  Those of you in the Twin Cities area are in luck because I will be traveling to Minnesota twice this summer with freshly butchered beef.  You can also fill out the google form to preorder beef when it's available.

4. WHAT NUTRITIONAL BENEFITS DOES BEEF OFFER ME THAT OTHER PROTEINS DO NOT?

Beef is a nutrition powerhouse in many ways.  Aside from being a great source of protein, beef provides essential nutrients in a smaller package than other proteins.  You would have to eat 8 oz of cooked chicken to get the same amount of iron as in 3 oz of beef, and 20 oz of chicken to get the same amount of zinc as in 1 serving of beef.

5. CAN I ENJOY BEEF REGULARLY AS PART OF A HEALTHY, BALANCED DIET?

Absolutely! A 3-oz serving of beef - about the size of an iPhone or deck of cards - provides more than 10 essential nutrients, like protein, iron and zinc.

6. HOW MUCH IS THE MINIMUM ORDER?

There is no minimum order!!  Try out a few pounds of our lean grass-fed beef for making burgers on the grill.  You're sure to want more!  Or you can make an order large enough to fill your freezer for the upcoming months.  Grilling and BBQ season is coming up.

7. DOES GRASS-FED BEEF RECEIVE ANY ADDITIVES?

The answer is NO!  That means it's 100% free of any antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, and other additives/fillers.  Our cattle were born here and raised under the big, blue, Montana sky free to roam our grassy pastures.
