How to CLEAN dirty oven racks without chemicals!

I hate this dreaded job especially after I've cooked steaks in a cast iron skillet in the oven (which by the way IS THE BEST way to cook them using high heat after searing them on the stovetop). SO JUICY AND TENDER. But the splatters in my oven make such a mess.

Want to clean your dirty oven but you don't like the chemicals......and it's so hard to scrub. UGH! I hear you!!

And I got you!! This method is so easy and NO CHEMICALS

All you need is

  • your tub

  • large bath towel

  • warm water

  • vinegar

  • baking soda

  • scrub brush

  1. Simply place a large bath towel on the bottom of the tub (so the racks don't scratch the tub)

  2. Place the racks on top of the towel.

  3. Spray with distilled white vinegar.

  4. Sprinkle with baking soda and it will start to foam.

  5. Then fill the tub with very hot water until the racks are submerged.

  6. Let it soak for several hours.

  7. Most of the charred bits will have soaked off, but use the scrub brush for stubborn char.

  8. Drain the tub and rinse with cool water

  9. Voila......your racks are clean and shiny......NO chemicals used!!
